Charging your electric car in Ganshoren
Ganshoren is one of the most residential municipalities in Brussels. Single-family houses with garages and apartment buildings with lock-up garages are plentiful.
In a lock-up garage separate from the flat, the key question is the power supply: is the garage connected to the flat's meter, to a communal meter, or to none at all? We look into it with you before proposing a solution and, if needed, prepare the file for the property manager (syndic).
Situations we come across in Ganshoren
- House with a garage
- Lock-up garage in an apartment building
- Power supply to be run from the meter
- Approval needed from the property manager (syndic)
The electricity grid in Ganshoren
As elsewhere in the Region, many homes in Ganshoren are connected to a 3 × 230 V grid rather than 3 × 400 V. On this grid, charging is usually single-phase, up to 7.4 kW, which is enough to charge most cars overnight. Not every charger is compatible: we check your grid connection before advising you. For any change to the connection, your contact is Sibelga, the Brussels distribution system operator.
